Good morning, everyone, and happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and found at least a few moments to slow down, recharge, and spend time with the people who matter most. Whether your weekend was filled with laughter, responsibilities, or simply trying to catch your breath before another busy week, today is a gift—a fresh start and another opportunity to become the person we're striving to be.
As I sat down to write this week's message, one word kept coming to my heart: growth.
Growth is something we all talk about, but very few of us truly understand what it requires. We often think growth comes from achieving more, earning more, or reaching the next milestone. While those things can certainly be part of our journey, real growth begins much deeper than that. It begins within us.
The reality is that many of us are carrying things we were never meant to carry for this long. We hold on to guilt over mistakes we've made, replay conversations we wish had gone differently, and allow past disappointments or painful experiences to define how we see ourselves today. Sometimes we carry wounds from childhood, broken relationships, betrayal, or loss. Other times, the weight comes from our own self-doubt, believing the lies that tell us we'll never be enough.
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
The truth is, we can't fully embrace who we're becoming if we're constantly chained to who we used to be.
One of the hardest lessons I've learned is that healing doesn't begin when someone finally apologizes or when life suddenly becomes easier. Healing begins the moment we decide that our past will no longer have the final say in our future. We can't change yesterday, no matter how badly we wish we could, but we can decide what we do with today.
That's why self-care is so important, and I'm not talking about bubble baths, vacations, or treating yourself to something nice—although there's nothing wrong with those things. Real self-care is much deeper than that. It's protecting your peace. It's setting healthy boundaries without feeling guilty. It's allowing yourself to rest without believing you have to earn it. It's asking for help when you need it and recognizing that strength isn't found in pretending everything is okay. Most importantly, it's learning to extend the same grace to yourself that you so freely give to everyone else.
We are often our own harshest critics. We forgive others for being human, yet we struggle to forgive ourselves. We hold ourselves hostage to decisions we made years ago, even though we've grown, learned, and become different people since then. If God can offer us grace every single day, why is it so difficult for us to offer that same grace to ourselves?
Growth requires courage because it asks us to face the parts of ourselves we've tried to avoid. It asks us to let go of resentment that has become familiar, release guilt we've carried for years, and stop allowing fear to keep us from stepping into the life we're meant to live. None of that is easy, but every step forward is a step toward freedom.
This week, I want to encourage you to spend a little time with yourself. Turn off the distractions for a few minutes and ask yourself some honest questions. What have you been holding onto that no longer serves you? Is there a burden you've been carrying that God never intended for you to carry alone? Is there someone you need to forgive, even if that someone is yourself?
You don't have to have all the answers today. You don't have to heal overnight. Growth isn't measured by how quickly you change; it's measured by your willingness to keep moving forward, even when the steps are small.

Remember, your past may explain some of your story, but it does not determine how your story ends. Every new day is another page waiting to be written. You have survived every difficult season you've faced so far, and that alone is proof that there is strength within you, even on the days you don't feel it.
As we begin this new week, I pray you choose peace over worry, forgiveness over guilt, hope over fear, and growth over staying comfortable. Give yourself permission to let go of what no longer serves you and make room for the person you're becoming.
Because the greatest investment you'll ever make isn't in your career, your finances, or your possessions—it's in becoming the healthiest, happiest, and most authentic version of yourself.
I hope this week brings you healing where you need healing, clarity where you need direction, and the courage to take the next step, no matter how small it may seem.
And one thought I always come back to is this:
"Your life changes the moment you stop asking, 'Why is this happening to me?' and start asking, 'What can this teach me?' That's where growth begins."
Have a wonderful week, and remember to be patient with yourself. Every positive thought, every kind word, and every small step forward is helping you become the person you're meant to be. 🌿💙
